Vernon is located practically next door to downtown Los Angeles. The town's motto is ”Exclusively Industrial”, and it is, making for a tax base so big and so tempting that the town has a long infamous history of corruption, nepotism and voter fraud. Its residential population is barely over a hundred and you would be hard pressed to find anyone on the street except before and after work shifts. There is one school and one restaurant; the rest of the 22 square mile city is made up of food processing plants, warehouses, factories and a spider web of railroad tracks. Sadly, the toxic emissions are so bad, the neighboring town of Huntington Park is called “asthmaville”.
