1990s Greenwich Village/East Village
Growing up in Greenwich Village was like growing up in a small town. I grew up next to Washington Square Park, but in 1980s while in my 20s, I moved to the East Village. You can see the photos I took there in another gallery I created. By the 1990s, I had moved back to the Village and lived on Bank Street and began photographing my neighborhood. It had changed dramatically from the the place I grew up in, but there was still enough left to remind me of home, and I tried to capture what I could as I knew many of those shops, cafes, and other places would be gone before long.
